Measures to Conserve Resources for Greater Sustainability
Based on the annual calculation of our carbon footprint—which Fokus Zukunft GmbH & Co. KG determines for us in accordance with the guidelines of the internationally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol—we have decided to offset our unavoidable emissions with Gold Standard carbon credits. Fokus Zukunft hereby confirms that the transaction was conducted properly and in accordance with the law.
Back in 2022, when we selected our first offset projects, we already considered the question of what kind of development impact we wanted to achieve and what types of projects we wanted to support. Since we, as an IT consulting firm, consume a lot of electricity, we have decided to invest in offset projects that support the energy supply. That is why we have selected projects to expand renewable energy in the form of wind power and solar energy, as well as a biomass plant. In addition, we wanted the offset projects to have more than just a developmental impact and to be verified to the highest standards. That is why we have selected projects that meet the Gold Standard (Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG)) and contribute to multiple SDGs.

We are committed to all 17 of the United Nations’ “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) as well as to the Paris Agreement on climate change and its 1.5-degree target.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with their 169 targets, are part of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda. These goals are intended to contribute equally to the realization of a sustainable global society and represent the global community’s “contract for the future” for the 21st century.
The goal of the 2030 Agenda is to ensure that global development is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable, thereby vigorously advancing the long-overdue transformation of national economies toward significantly more sustainable and inclusive development. Climate change, loss of biodiversity, poverty, hunger, and economic practices that are often associated with high resource consumption all demonstrate that a change of course is needed worldwide. The 2030 Agenda is guided by the principle of leaving no one behind—including the world’s most vulnerable—and aims to ensure that future generations, too, have the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives.
