Fliesen-Zentrum Easily Manages the Migration of Its Product Data with CAS AG
With the help of specialists from CAS AG, Fliesen-Zentrum Deutschland migrated its central Product Information Management (PIM) system from an external hosting partner to its own data center and a new database solution. The migration went smoothly and was completed in just four weeks, including all testing —such as the integration of the ERP system, the digital asset management (DAM) system, and, last but not least, the various websites of the building materials retailer.
CAS AG has in-depth expertise in the PIM system used by Fliesen-Zentrum. The solution, which was originally developed and marketed by Lobster and counts numerous well-known customers among its users, was acquired in April 2025 by the Swiss company W4 Group, which continues to develop the system under the name elytra. As a partner of the W4 Group, CAS AG provides high-quality support for new system implementations and system users.
“The transition went smoothly with CAS AG,” says Manuela Riedel, marketing manager at Fliesen-Zentrum. “The consultants were always available and guided us through the testing process very well.” What the marketing team at Fliesen-Zentrum is particularly pleased about is that the consultants from CAS AG even tidied up while they were moving. The specialists have removed processes that are no longer needed from the system.
As part of the migration of the elytra PIM system to its own servers, Fliesen-Zentrum switched its database from MySQL to the open-source system MariaDB. In a very short time, CAS AG developed the new database structure and tested all processes on a test system. CAS AG also successfully set up and tested exports to the company’s online stores—which are fed product data in part via SFTP but also via an Elasticsearch index—without a hitch within the project’s total timeframe of just four weeks.
Thanks to thorough preparation, the consultants at CAS AG were able to seamlessly migrate the Fliesen-Zentrum’s PIM system to its new environment with only four hours of downtime. “The consultants at CAS AG knew exactly what to look for,” says Manuela Riedel.
